About Curú National Wildlife Refuge

A trip to the beach, a ride on a ferry and a quick hop later, you find yourself surrounded by 1,500 hectares of wildlife ranging from forests to beaches. Here you can enjoy walking down any of the various hiking trails, enjoy any of the 3 beaches or take a horseback tour, go kayaking,or scuba diving. Additionally, you can choose to opt for a breakfast or lunch. The diversity in the park is incredible, you can find thousands of plants, the monkeys jump from tree to tree above you or howl to each other in the distance. You may also see deer, or even the Central American agouti. On your return trip, enjoy a beautiful sunset at sea as you travel back in the ferry.

This tour is very diverse and needs to start very early in the day to make use of most of the hours since the park closes at 4 pm. Any additional tours and food is recommended to be reserved ahead of time to ensure the availability. The hikes vary in difficulty but are mostly accessible. Beaches, such as Quesera, can be accessed via boat, which have an additional cost, or by hiking 5 km through jungle and farmland. Either choice is beautiful but the access is limited so please do advise us ahead of time.
